The Academy at Julington Creek’s classrooms are bright and colorful, encouraging children to be creative and have fun with a variety of stimulating activities. Three-year-olds are active learners, full of questions and enthusiasm for acquiring new information and skills.
They are capable of expressing themselves through:
• Creative art
• Dramatic play
Children at this age are very observant and pay close attention to details. They enjoy being challenged and are very proud of their accomplishments. Our preschool classrooms contain age-appropriate materials geared to building a foundation for a lifetime of learning as our 3-year-olds gain the basis for math and reading readiness. We also set aside time, twice a day, for gross motor play and outdoor activities in our outdoor learning environments.
We promote development through curriculum-based experiences:
The Academy’s learning environment is primarily based on the A Beka curriculum, an accredited program developed in early education settings. At the core of the curriculum lies well planned learning centers that allow for child choice and self-directed play, small groups, and supportive teaching designed to ensure future academic success. Development of language, mathematical reasoning, and scientific thought are emphasized throughout the lessons.
